RESUBMISSION - Group Presentation

In our group for songwriting, we had a discussion and gave ideas of what our song should be about. Since Erica wasn't in that week, we had decided to wait until next week to decide what our song should be about. So, I had begun to play different chord progressions and ask the rest of the group weather they had liked it or wanted it to sound different. With the chords we made, we were able to make a basic verse over it. 

The next week Porsha, Tami and Erica worked together to add to the lyrics that were made the week before. While they were doing this, I was trying to make a chord sequence for the chorus. I had some difficulty as I couldn't think of a rhythm that was different from the verse. We practised as a band but there seemed to be a gap between the verse and the chorus, so our goal for next week was the singers to go away and make lyrics that could we could use as a pre chorus.

The week after, we worked on the pre chorus and managed to use some parts of each others lyrics. Tami had written the second verse to the song so we also worked on changing it slightly so it can fit with the rhythm of the chords and make it in time. At the end of the week, we had made the whole song with the chords. 

We then kept running through the song until we were able to do it with out mistakes.

RESUBMISSION - Analysis on Talking Book Reviews

Rolling Stone  - In this review, the person is main comparing Talking Book to the previous                              album Stevie Wonder released. The phrase "many ways a reprise with variations" tells us that this person feels like there has only been a small difference between the two albums. He then goes on to talk about individual songs within the album and what he thought each song portrayed with a small analysis of what instruments were used.
I liked the way the review was written. However, I felt as if it was more of a comparison to the previous album.

Pop Matters -  This review is in a style of a conversation many years after the album had                               been released. Mendelsohn comments about this being 'the end of our time with Stevie Wonder' which could mean that he felt that this album marked the highlight of the good music that Stevie Wonder made. They went on to talk about the different styles each of the songs used and weather they liked the way Stevie did this. I like the way this review was written because it gave you sense of you being involved with their conversation and I also like that they had hints of sarcasm while speaking to each other because it made it less of a view and more of a casual conversation between two friends.

New Statesman -  In this review, the reviewer talks about how successful the album is and was when released and also how some individual songs became more famous as the album got older. He then goes to analyse a couple of songs, describing what instruments were used and what impact they had on the song. He also talks about what dynamics were used and what effect this gave on the listener. I like this review because even though it was from his point of view, it was very informative.

RESUBMISSION - Professional Concert Review

Taylor Swift performed at London's famous O2 Arena for 5 days, all of which were sold out. I had gone to see her Red Tour with The Vamps as her supporting act.

Before Taylor came on stage, The Vamps performed. When they first came on stage, they told the crowd who they were and told a story of how they manage to become Taylor's support act while they setting up. I like the way they did this because it took the attention away from what was happening behind them. 

Taylor gave a very visual performance from charging through the crowd to being 30ft over the audience. I liked the way she did this because she used audience participation, which made you feel apart of the experience.  

During the breaks in between song, weather it is an outfit change or just a change of song, you never had a moment of being bored. Taylor would talk to the audience and ask questions like "How are you feeling, London?" that would get a good reaction out of the audience. She would also talk about her writing process of the song she's about to sing, which would you give insight of why and how she wrote the song. I liked this because I felt like it gave me more of an understanding about what her song was about and let me pay more attention to the lyrics.While Taylor was having a costume change, we watched a video montage of photos and family videos of Taylor's life so far and key moments until the age 22. It felt like we had also been on the journey along with her which made us feel even more engaged. 

Taylor Swift started and ended with a bang. However, she did take it down a notch by performing her well know songs from previous albums like Love Story. I like the way she did this because it was a sudden change from jumping up and down to waving your lights. It gave us time to remember her old songs even though we're at a concert for her most recent album.

Even though Taylor Swift is not the best dancer, I felt as if I was watching a performance not just someone singing on a stage. From the back up dancers, to the light show, it felt like more of an experience then a concert.

Working As A Music Producer 05.02.16

This week, I was still trying to fix the timing of the chords and the accuracy of the chords. I want to add a bass to it to add more of a range. I also want to add strings  and change the chords where there's a bar between the verse and the chorus
