Week 12

Since this was the week before the Gig, I had needed to practice with my band before Friday since that was the day all performances had to be finished for it to be put in the show. However, I hadn't been able to do a full practice with everyone there which showed in the practice on Friday.




I think that it was very noticeable that it was much harder know the counts of everything once we practiced all together. However, everyone knows the structure and what they need to play but I think that wasn't shown well since it's different from practicing with one other person, to practicing as a group.

Week 11

This week I was working with the guitarist to go through some of the main riffs,  e.g. guitar solo in Lingus, the beginning of Outlier, that would be important in certain songs.  

I think that because Jack is able to pick up music quite quickly, it helped as we were able to move on to new material quicker. However, I do think that we didn't spend enough time on articulation and timing but I was more concerned about him knowing the notes more than knowing the exact timing for the time being.

Week 10

Week 10 

Since there are 3 weeks left, I’m starting to feel like I won’t be able to finish what I wanted to do because of the short time I have left and the time its taken to transcribe.

To sort out this problem, I need to make deadlines for me to meet to achieve my goal. 

Things I need to do: 

- Go through particular riffs with the guitarist, e.g. guitar solo in Lingus 
- Make sure the timing on the horn lines are correct 
- Finish transcribing 
- Have a group rehearsal
